Old Forge Library's Music in the Gazebo Series will feature the Mohawk Valley based trio of Deveny, Mulkerne and Handzel on Tuesday, July 30 at 4 pm. The trio entertains with a mix of blues, rock, swing, boogie, R&B and folk and their playlist features  original material and classics.

Best known for his incendiary slide guitar work, Deveny is a 2013 inductee of the NYS Blues Hall of Fame. George has played with many popular upstate New York bands since the 1970s, including Blueprints, Tom Healey Band, Homegrown, Slidewinder, the Dust Devil Band, Brian Mulkerne Band, Gary Hunt Band, and Tommy Hoe and the Barncats. George performed at Woodstock 99 with singer-songwriter John Savage.

Brian Mulkerne is a guitarist and singer-songwriter who has performed for nearly 20 years, both as a solo artist and with the Brian Mulkerne Band. Brian is best known for his finger-style-blues picking and Dylan and Grateful Dead repertoire.

John Handzel is a master bass player, expert at electric, fretless and upright. He has played with or shared the stage with Muddy Waters, James Cotton, John Lee Hooker, Steve Morse, the Dixie Dregs, George Thoroughgood & the Delaware Destroyers and many others.

The large lawn area surrounding the library gazebo offers the opportunity to spread out and enjoy this free, family-friendly entertainment.

The Friends of the Old Forge Library will offer a used book sale during the concerts if weather permits. Listeners are invited to stop by their booth and load up on used books, DVDs, puzzles and more. Donations are appreciated.

Other performances will include 8/6: Jared Campbell, 8/13: Cincinnati Creek, 8/20: Joe Bolton & Mary Brophy-Moore, and 8/27: Tom O’Carroll.

Library concerts are always free to attend. Listeners are asked to bring their own blanket or folding chair.
