Author Talk: Dear Brother by Maureen Sullivan
Join us on July 15th at 6pm in the community room as local author Maureen Sullivan speaks on her book, "Dear Brother".
DEAR BROTHER, is the story of the McOmber family, the family of Stephen and Hannah McOmber and their nine children as told through their letters. Spanning a 72-year period, from 1851 to 1923, the letters tell the story of a family that is at once ordinary, yet unique, their stories personal, yet universal. Individually, the letters reveal the experiences, thoughts, and feelings of the writer; collectively, they offer a time capsule of sorts offering insights into the social history of pre-Civil War America to the early 20th century
