The Old Forge Library’s Music in the Gazebo Series continues its summer season with a live performance by Omega Defern on Tuesday, July 7, at 4 pm. The Nashville-based indie rock duo is known for emotionally honest songwriting, dynamic live energy, and a sound that fuses grit and melody in equal measure. Comprised of husband-and-wife duo Michael and Heather Liebensohn, their music blends soaring hooks, raw vulnerability, and rich storytelling, putting Heather's powerful vocals and Mike's electrifying guitar riffs at the forefront.
The large lawn area surrounding the library gazebo offers a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to spread out and enjoy this free, family-friendly entertainment. Listeners are asked to bring their own blankets or folding chairs for seating, and toe-tapping, clapping along, and dancing are all highly encouraged. As an added bonus, the Friends of the Old Forge Library will host a used book table during the concerts, weather permitting. Concertgoers are invited to stop by the Friends' booth to browse and load up on used books, DVDs, puzzles, and more, with all donations supporting the library.
The Music in the Gazebo series will continue to provide free live music every Tuesday at 4 pm throughout the summer, featuring a diverse lineup of returning favorites and talented new artists:
July 14: Mad Agnes
July 21: Hungry Town
July 28: Cincinnati Creek
August 4: George Deveny and Friends
August 11: Ann Carey
August 18: Tom O’Carroll
August 25: Red Bandana
September 1: Penny Bianco
All library concerts are free and open to the public. For more information about the summer music lineup or other upcoming library events, please visit the Old Forge Library at 220 Crosby Blvd., or call 315-369-6008.
